WSBE24 Program Overview

With an overarching focus on innovative pathways and partnerships for sustainable built environments, WSBE24 will retain most of the key themes identified in the original call and submission of abstracts and open another round of opportunity for others to submit abstracts for oral or “poster”/video presentation proposals until 31st July 2023 (see Revised WSBE24 Schedule & Key Dates).

Over three days from 12-14 June 2024, the revised conference program will include:

  • Priority-themed plenary session and roundtable discussion and action forums (live and real-time, relatively short (e.g., 3 hours) and scheduled at different times each day to be accessible at different time zones)

• Scientific/technical oral presentations (virtually delivered in session; pre-recorded and accessible on their scheduled day)

• Poster and/or short 2-min video presentations (available on demand from program links)

WSBE24 will produce:

• A report on the key themes and actions from the plenary session and roundtable forums including status reports from previous regional SBE conferences

• An open-access IOP conference proceedings (reviewed conference papers), and

• Special issue(s) in selected or partner journals (top-rated papers selected and “fast-tracked” based on peer reviews).

New Scientific Committee:

Committed to quality outcomes, the Conference Co-chairs have set-up a strong and diverse Scientific Committee that extends the membership of the current Committee from the Montreal event and, along with the Conference Co-chairs, will be co-led by:

• Dr Naomi Keena, McGill University (Canada) and previous Scientific Committee Chair of the Montreal event

• Prof Holger Wallbaum, Chalmers Univ (Sweden) and previous WSBE2020 Gothenburg Conference Chair
